Q: What kind of real world testing is used to validate K&C’s designs?
A: Because of our familiarity and access to the large database of test results for the performance of structural components and systems we are able to show clients how protection concepts work and to validate the approaches that we employ in developing protective designs. Much of our testing is done on government ranges where we have used up to 20,000lbs of TNT to generate blast loads for tests of buildings, columns, walls, windows, as well as protective devices for enhancing the blast resistance of these components. We play a large role in research and development efforts to create new protection concepts and products as well as work in some of the most high risk places in the world.
