29 Jun K&C Hosts DaVinci Camp Students
K&C was thrilled to host the students of DaVinci Camp to showcase science and engineering in a workplace environment.
The students got to hear from long-time veteran blast engineer John Crawford, who gave a presentation on Impact and Bollards. Mark Weaver, Senior Engineer, spoke to the students about K&C’s recent blast test of Cross-Laminated Timber.
The students also got to participate in the Marshmallow Challenge, where they had 18 minutes to construct the tallest free-standing structure out of 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string, and one marshmallow. This is a famous design activity that has challenged people across the globe from kindergarteners to CEOs.
DaVinci Camp “promotes academic excellence and eliminates the achievement gap among Latino students.
