K&C has aided many product/device manufacturers with evaluating/improving their designs through testing under blast and impact loads. In the case shown above, K&C conducted an anti-ram bollard system test. Here a vehicle of a specific weight, type, and speed is propelled into the anti-ram device to be tested with regard to meeting a particular anti-ram rating.
K&C has pioneered the use of finite element analyses to design devices which resist high velocity impacts and evaluate the performance of materials and anchorage systems. UCSD, in close cooperation with K&C, has developed a technology for low cost testing of products and design concepts to evaluate the capability of providing protection from blast and impact hazards. This form of device has afforded K&C’s clients to closely observe their products performance in a blast-like environment.
