K&C Partners With MACE on a Three-Day Short Course for Impact and Blast Effects

University of Manchester Short courseDr. Shengrui Lan, Principal Engineer at Karagozian & Case, along with Dr. Qingming Li, of the School of Mechanical, Aerospace & Civil Engineering (MACE) at the University of Manchester, will be providing a three-day short course entitled “ Impact and Blast Effect: Theory, Analysis and Design” at the University of Manchester, this fall from October 31 to November 2, 2016.

The three days will provide introductory training for practicing engineers, consultants, researchers and research students, who may be involved in dealing with impact and blast effects in the following fields:

  • mechanical engineering
  • civil engineering
  • nuclear engineering
  • aerospace engineering
  • oil and petrochemical engineering
  • defense engineering.

 

The course will consist of an introduction to impact, blast and shock threats and their effects on structures with special emphasis on the fundamental concepts and methodologies of the practical techniques and the latest state-of-the-art developments in material property characterization and analytical method.

This course will be suitable to architects, estate developers and security managers, who need updating in the latest developments in this area.
