06 Apr K&C / RSA Shallow Buried Bollards
K&C/RSA Shallow-Buried Bollards provide anti-crash protection for your facility against vehicles accidentally or intentionally encroaching on spaces needing protection.
K&C/RSA invented and patented the shallow buried bollard (SBB) system around 10 years ago. The SBB deploys bollards in an urban environment, where underground utilities make it important that little excavation occur and that the system be highly flexible in its layout to accommodate the access and surface features at a site. The SBB offers a wide range of impact ratings ranging from DOS Certified Ratings of K4 to K12 (as well as the equivalent ASTM F2656 and PAS 68 ratings). Many crash tests of the various SBB systems have been conducted by K&C to both validate the performance of SBB systems and to validate the accuracy of our analysis models. Advantages to the SBB system include the need for only 6 to 14 inch-deep excavations for placement of their tubular steel bases.
These designs were developed as modular units, which eliminate the requirements for field welding, thus expediting installation and reducing site disruptions. These SBB are custom-designed to accommodate a wide range of site specific features and constraints, including manholes, electrical vaults, variations in elevations, corner details, etc.
