Composite materials can provide a wide range of capabilities for managing acoustic waves. Through topology optimization K&C designs multilayered composites with optimal structural and acoustic performance. In this paper, a series of ultrasound tests have been done on a multilayered composite and it is observed that acoustic waves can be effectively filtered over a range of desired frequencies. This technique can be used in managing acousic/stress waves in various application including sound proof environments, speakers, electronic devices, vibration-less environments, etc.
